EUROPEAN TOWN OF SPORT 2019

Chianciano Terme is European Town of Sport 2019

Chianciano Terme has officially been awarded as European Town of Sport 2019.
The ACES Europe commission (European Capitals and Cities of Sport Federation) has formally announced it a few days ago. The 6th of November 2017 the mayor Andrea Marchetti will take part at the official CONI ceremony in Rome. While in 2018 a town delegation will be invited at the ACES Europe Grand Gala at the European Parliament in Bruxelles.
Chianciano Terme has a long tradition of hospitality and with its wide range of sports venues is ready to host new events and new sport proposals.

LIVE ROCK FESTIVAL 21th EDITION

From Wednesday the 6th of September till Sunday 10th the Live Rock Festival will be back for its 20th edition. ORIZZONTI FESTIVAL 2017

#Umano Chiusi from the 29th of July till the 5th of August

Orizzonti Festival, at its 15th Edition, will start tomorrow with this year topic focusing on the #Human being. Humankind has always been the main and innate feature of the Festival. “Culture, Art and Beauty have a responsibility to let the human feeling emerged, avoiding the collapse of a society we consider civilized” said the new Festival Art Director Roberto Carlocelli.
So, HUMAN will be the code word for this 2017 Orizzonti Festival.
All shows, meetings and concerts will all converge on this topic and as life they will make us play, dance, laugh and cry.

Chianciano Terme Music Festival comes back this year again at its XVIII edition from the 26th to the 30th of July. Five intense days amongst good music with local and international artists, typical food and wine, markets and contemporary art installations.

CHIUSI: THE ETRUSCAN TOWN

Chiusi has always been considered one of the most ancient Etruscan town. And the most important historical figure of that period was King Porsenna that at the end of 6th century B.C. besieged and conquered Rome.
Through the century King Porsenna became a legend and many places in Chiusi remind us of its figure, like the “Porsenna’s Labyrinth”, an underground network of narrow tunnels part of a complex and clever Etruscan hydraulic system. The accessible part of this tunnels is 130 metres long and represents a proof of how much advanced was the knowledge of the Etruscan civilization.
