One of the most popular summer festivals is coming back!
This festival attracts tourists and locals citizens for its sacred and profane soul at the same time! On Sunday, August 27th, the 8 “contrade”, like districts, of the village of Montepulciano will be challenging again until the last climb in the traditional "Bravio delle Botti". One of the most important attractions of the event are the dinners in the district, tipical tuscan dinners full of people, noise, colors and familiar spirit.
The dishes, then, are the highlight of the event, the opportunity to eat the “pici” a typical hand made pasta with Aglione sauce or tripe with tomatoes, just to name a few typical tuscan delicacies.
Going to the "real" game, it all starts at 3 pm with the parade of the charming Historical Court, made up of more than 300 figures.
Finally at 19.00, after the signal given by the bells of the town bell, the barrels begin to roll over the stone from the Marzocco column. The first district to arrive on the Duomo's churchyard will win the victory and will party throughout Montepulciano!
